So here we are! We’ve already completed a month of 2019! In many places it’s still SUPER cold out and weather can be such an unfriendly creature! To all of you in the cold areas, stay safe and warm, and rest assured, Spring will be along shortly! At DreamProducts.com we are looking forward to the beauty of the new season!

February is the shortest month of the year, with only 28 days, and offers several well-known, and some lesser known holidays, to celebrate. Here is a list of a few of those dates.

Feb. 2: Groundhog’s Day! A popular tradition celebrated in the United States and Canada. It derives from the Pennsylvania Dutch superstition that if a groundhog emerging from its burrow on this day sees a shadow due to clear weather, it will retreat to its den and winter will persist for six more weeks, and if it does not see its shadow because of cloudiness, spring will arrive early. It’s a fun tradition but studies have found no correlation between the groundhog seeing its shadow and the subsequent arrival of spring-like weather. Superstition or not, we are HOPING he sees that shadow!

Feb. 3: National Wear Red Day to raise awareness about women and heart disease. Although heart disease may often be thought of as a problem for men, heart disease is the most common cause of death for both women and men in the United States. One challenge is that some heart disease symptoms in women may be different from those in men.

These six heart attack symptoms are common in women:

  • Chest pain or discomfort. Chest pain is the most common heart attack symptom, but some women may experience it differently than men. …
  • Pain in your arm(s), back, neck, or jaw. …
  • Stomach pain
  • Shortness of breath, nausea, or lightheadedness
  • Sweating
  • Fatigue

Feb 4: World Cancer Day - Founded by the Union For International Cancer Control (UICC) to support goals of the World Cancer Declaration written in 2008.

Feb 14: Valentine’s Day. The holiday has origins in the Roman festival of Lupercalia, held in mid-February. … At the end of the 5th century, Pope Gelasius I replaced Lupercalia with St. Valentine’s Day. It came to be celebrated as a day of romance from about the 14th century. A perfect day to give an extra hug to ALL the people you love!

Feb. 18: President’s Day is celebrated the third Monday in Feb, which this year is Feb. 18!

If you are born in February, your birthstone is an Amethyst (I have TWO children with Feb. birthdays). Your flower is the Primrose and Zodiac signs are either Aquarius or Pisces.
